Newport Residences

The Beauty of Newport Residences

Newport Residences is the ideal residence for people who seek a work-life balance. It is situated in the city of Tengah’s most contemporary Forest Town, where inhabitants may experience a range of sports and leisure amenities. Tengah is the very first HDB city to be built, with five different districts and the most modern town-wide technology. The new EC is established ideally along Tengah Garden Walk in District 24. It was primarily used for military training facilities since it was a wide expanse of marsh and forest.

This redevelopment project would contain a 46-story mixed-use structure. Subject to government approval, 40% will be dedicated to retail and business use; 25% to serviced apartments; and the remaining 35%, with approximately 256 units, will be for residential use.

While enjoying a hectic lifestyle, take some time to unwind in the spa area. On the premises are the Garden Dining Pavilion and the Banquet Hall.

Thanks to the many health and mediation services, such as pools, yoga areas, and meditation rooms, you can appreciate the scenery while soaking in the peace and quiet of mid-air. Those who need more severe exercise have access to two fitness centers, one for endurance and another for cardio.

The Bustling Environment at Tanjong Pagar

Tanjong Pagar is the only district in Singapore that has seen the city’s evolution from a fishing hamlet to a major trade port to a contemporary metropolitan. Tanjong Pagar, whose name translates to “cape of stakes” in Malay, was formerly a sleepy fishing village and an agricultural plantation town along Singapore’s coast. The Central Business District of Singapore, formerly dominated by low-rise wooden huts along the coast, is now dominated by a swath of high-rise glass and steel towers.

Tanjong Pagar has been a haven for Indian and Chinese dock workers since the 1600s. The docks attracted affluent Arab and Chinese merchants who bought real estate, transforming the region into a primarily working-class Hokkien neighborhood. Because of the high volume of traffic between the ports and the city, rickshaw pullers made a lot of money here. Jinricksha Station, a historic edifice located at the intersection of Tanjong Pagar Road and Neil Road, was built in 1904 by the government.

Several shophouses were renovated as part of the government’s conservation effort in the mid-1980s. Tanjong Pagar has transformed into a bustling commercial hub in recent years.

Reconstruction of Fuji Xerox Towers

With the help of the CBD Incentive Scheme, City Developments Limited (CDL) is redeveloping the Newport Residences (previously Fuji Xerox Towers) at 80 Anson Road.

As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic’s effect on the firm’s net revenue in the first part of the year, City Developments Ltd (CDL) has accelerated its plans to refurbish its pre-existing commercial buildings in Singapore’s city center.

Attractions in the Tanjong Pagar District

Tanjong Pagar Distripark

Ten years ago, Tanjong Pagar Distripark became recognized as an alternative arts center, and now that the National Artists Council plans to further expand it as an arts cluster, there’s little question that this industrial site will continue to grow. Galerie Steph, as well as the Singapore Arts Museum’s inauguration in January 2022, should be on your list of things to see and do in Singapore. SAM’s new core location in Tanjong Pagar Distripark will be a venue for abstract expressionism and technology-driven shows.

Hotel Soloha

Staycations have become more popular in recent years. And if you like trendy boutiques, Keong Saik’s newest child on the block could be exactly the ticket. In the heart of Singapore’s Chinatown and Tanjong Pagar, the modest 45-room Hotel Soloha recalls a tropical modernity that blends seamlessly into the picturesque neighborhood.

Make like a superstar by donning your gloves and getting ready to punt! CruBox, a Los Angeles-based boxing facility, is a favorite of celebrities, including Usher and Nicole Scherzinger. This sleek, industrial-chic gym on Duxton Road is sure to get you in the best shape of your life, regardless of your level of fitness or boxing prowess.

Maxwell Food Centre

Maxwell Food Centre is one of the city’s most popular places to get a bite to eat during the workday. It has a wide variety of food booths, from savory Hainanese chicken rice to hearty breakfasts and mee pok. At Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice at this hawker center, Anthony Bourdain and Gordon Ramsay were both thrilled with the restaurant’s twist on chicken rice, and you can’t leave the scene without trying it.
